BELGRADE, Dec 6 (Hina) - The Yugoslav Parliament's declaration
which condemns the US criticism of the Yugoslav President Slobodan
Milosevic is not a helpful statement, a diplomat at the US Embassy
in Belgrade, Douglas Davidson, told the independent radio B-92 on
Sunday.
Davidson also expressed satisfaction with the fact that Montenegro
did not participate in the adoption of the declaration, which was
endorsed late on Thursday and which rejects Washington's latest
attacks on the Yugoslav policy and its president because of media
restrictions, hampering of the democratisation process and the
Yugoslav policy towards Kosovo.
US President Bill Clinton on Friday signed a document extending for
another six months the so-called outer wall of sanctions against
Yugoslavia and the Republika Srpska. The sanctions include the
freezing of Yugoslavia's assets and funds abroad and its membership
in international organisations.
