ZAGREB, Nov 9 (Hina) - A Parliamentary Conference of the Central +European Initiative (CEI) ended Monday night.+ The aim of the conference was to adopt a final document concerning +the strengthening of economic cooperation between the
16 member +countries, along with intensive efforts in the implementation of +the Sarajevo Declaration and the contingency plan of the CEI.+ The year old Sarajevo Declaration supported the integration +processes in Europe along with solidarity of members. The aim of the conference was to adopt a final document concerning
the strengthening of economic cooperation between the 16 member
countries, along with intensive efforts in the implementation of
the Sarajevo Declaration and the contingency plan of the CEI.
The year old Sarajevo Declaration supported the integration
processes in Europe along with solidarity of members. The aims for
this and next year are the strengthening of cooperation, European
integration for CEI members, along with their economic
transformation.
The document expresses concern with the current situation in
Kosovo.
Chairwoman of the conference and Croatian Sabor (Parliament) MP,
Zdravka Busic, stated that the work and adoption of the final
document went smoothly.
The vice-president of the Croatian National (Sabor) Parliament,
Zarko Domljan, announced that the meeting was significant in the
respect that it was the first regional international parliamentary
conference hosted and chaired in Croatia.
Paul Hartig, General Director of the CEI Secretariat said that CEI
may play a role "in the lines of division" so to alleviate the
effects of division which occurred by the accession of new members
in the European Union.
Hartig added that the goal is to achieve European integration
without any exceptions, and cohesion in Europe is the strategic
aim.
