ZAGREB, Nov 21 (Hina) - The agreement on special relations between
Croatia and the Bosnian Federation will be signed in Zagreb at 12.00
hours on Sunday, "if there is no last-minute change of plans,"
Croatian president's advisor for internal affairs, Ivic Pasalic,
said on Saturday night.
Pasalic told the Croatian Television that this agreement is the
"basic document for the realisation of principles and goals
included in the Washington and Dayton agreements".
This agreement is the "basic precondition for long-lasting
stability of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, for the
preservation of the sovereignty and equality of Croats (...) and
for the establishment and preservation of a long-lasting and stable
co-existence of Croats and Bosniaks (Moslems) in the Bosnian
Federation".
The agreement, Pasalic said, "should establish close, special and
institutional relations between the Republic of Croatia and the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina".
He assessed that the agreement would be "of historic importance",
but the signing and ratification of all its annexes is necessary.
He expressed conviction that this process would be quicker than was
the case with the agreement itself.
Regarding Sunday's first session of the Inter-State Council for
Cooperation between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Pasalic said
it would be a constitutive session at which members of the standing
committee, a working body within the Council, would be appointed.
he added that the session would also focus on cooperation between
the two countries in economy, border planning, road construction
and other issues.
