GOVT PREPARES MEASURES AGAINST ILLIQUIDITY

ZAGREB, Nov 11 (Hina) - The Government and the Croatian National Bank (HNB) are preparing a set of measures against illiquidity and will present them to the Sabor together with a draft budget for 1999, said Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa during Wednesday's question time at the House of Representatives. The said measures will be a big turn-around for many economic branches, the Prime Minister noted. Reconstruction and Development Minister Jure Radic resolutely dismissed claims by Milan Djukic of the Serb National Party (SNS) that the Government was discriminating against Serb returnees as regards reconstruction and returnee care. Not one project Croatia has proposed for the donors' conference is ethnically coloured, Radic said adding that those projects were all directed towards providing assistance for all Croatian citizens who wished to build and defend Croatia. Croatia respects its agreement with Hungary on the protection of national minorities, said Foreign Minister Mate Granic answering a question by a minority representative Sandor Jakab.
