ZAGREB, Nov 4 (Hina) - The Croatian Sabor's (parliament) House of
Representatives on Wednesday decided to open a new session next
week with a 19-item agenda.
The 19 items were to be included in the agenda of today's 34th
session but opposition MPs objected to the proposal. They said that
widening the agenda and continuing the ongoing session would
deprive them of question time, which entitles them to present their
questions to the Government.
Namely, each new parliamentary session begins with question time.
After a half-hour break, requested by Croatian Social Liberal Party
(HSLS) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) representatives for
consultations, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) bench agreed
that the agenda of the ongoing session should not be widened and
that a new session should be called for next week.
The lower house accepted this proposal and continued the session
with a discussion on an election bill, proposed by six opposition
parties.
