ZAGREB, Sept 12 (Hina) - Border police at Bregana, a border crossing
between Croatia and Slovenia, on Saturday stopped a six-member
Muslim family from Kosovo, all Yugoslav citizens, from illegally
leaving Croatia.
The family was found with forged Croatian passports during a
regular check of a Croatia Bus vehicle, Zagreb Police spokesman
Josip Begovic told reporters.
The passports, which were bought in Montenegro for DEM1,500 each,
are from various parts of Croatia. The counterfeiters stuck new
photographs over the data of the original owners. There was also an
instance where new data was typed in.
The magistrate in Samobor fined the Yugoslav citizens for
attempting to illegally cross the border and banned them from
entering Croatia for a two-year period, Begovic said, adding
criminal proceedings were also initiated.
