SPLIT, July 20 (Hina) - The Split-based Organisation for Security
and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is satisfied with cooperation with
the Croatian police, the outgoing head of OSCE's regional office in
Split Ann Christine Eriksson said on Monday.
Eriksson, who will be taking a new post and is leaving Croatia after
a long time, today organised a farewell reception for
representatives of the Split County police.
The new head of the regional OSCE office Jochen Hayungs also
attended.
County police head Marko Bekavac said the Croatian police and the
OSCE mission were both advocating the protection of every citizen's
constitutional rights.
Bekavac asked the OSCE representatives for understanding. He also
said that since the memory of war was still fresh, difficulties had
to be eliminated gradually, in order not to hurt those who during
the aggression on Croatia were exiled, wounded or lost their family
members and the hard earned property.
