SARAJEVO, June 10 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina's new currency, the
convertible mark (konvertibilna marka, KM), will be released into
circulation on June 22, BH Central Bank Governor Peter Nicholl said
Wednesday.
The first bills of the new currency were announced to appear on June
15, but the delay was explained by difficulties in transporting the
new bills which are being printed in France.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina dinars which are still circulating as legal
tender can be exchanged for the convertible mark at the ratio of one
hundred dinars for one KM.
The Croatian kuna and Yugoslav dinar which are also circulating in
Bosnia-Herzegovina will not be exchanged for the KM, although they
will remain legal tender.
