CONVERTIBLE MARK TO BE CIRCULATED IN BOSNIA EARLY JUNE

( Editorial: --> 4688 ) SARAJEVO, May 18 (Hina) - The printing of Bosnia's new currency, the convertible mark, will be finished by the end of this month, Central bank of Bosnia-Herzegovina governor Peter Nicholl said Monday. The new currency will enter the payment system starting June, Nicholl told Sarajevo daily Vecernje Novine. The banknotes, which are being printed in France, will be delivered in the next two weeks and will immediately replace the current Bosnian dinar. Earlier on, Nicholl said it would not be possible to directly exchange the Croatian kuna and the Yugoslav dinar, also used in Bosnia, into the convertible mark, as the Central Bank does not consider the kuna and the dinar as convertible currency. According to Nicholl, funds granted for the reconstruction of Bosnia at a recent donors' conference, will start arriving in August. The exact distribution ratio of the US$1.25 billion in Bosnia's two entities has not yet been determined, he concluded. (hina) ha 181334 MET may 98
