GERMANY WON'T GIVE UP FROM RETURNING REFUGEES TO BOSNIA: RUEHE

( Editorial: --> 8318 ) SARAJEVO, June 2 (Hina) - German Defence Minister Vokler Ruehe said in Sarajevo on Tuesday that Germany wanted the remainder of Bosnian Federation refugees in Germany to return to their homes. At this moment there are still 40,000 refugees from the Bosnian Federation in Germany, Ruehe told the Premier of the Bosnian Federation, Edhem Bicakcic. Ruehe arrived in Sarajevo on Tuesday for a one-day visit to Bosnia- Herzegovina in order to hold talks with senior officials of the governments of the two entities in Bosnia. Accompanying him are the German government's coordinator for the return of refugees, Dietmar Schlee, and the international mediator for the Bosnian Federation and Bosnian Serb republic, Christian Schwarz-Schilling. Ruehe said the government in Bonn was prepared to invest additional efforts aimed at the revival of the economy in Bosnia-Herzegovina and thus create conditions for an expedited return of refugees. Bicakcic recalled that the Bosnian Federation had during the past two years received 200,000 refugees who had been abroad during the war, mostly in Germany. He expressed readiness for the process to continue, and called on the German government to continue exerting efforts and providing aid. Bicakcic especially stressed the importance of investments by the Volkswagen automobile enterprise which will soon open a montage factory from Skoda's programme in Vogosca, near Sarajevo. Ruehe also held talks with the head of Bosnian Franciscans, Petar Andjelovic, and visited soldiers of the Stabilisation Force (SFOR) in a base in Rajlovci. He and his associates will in the afternoon visit locations where refugees are to return in Travnik (central Bosnia) and Modrica (north Bosnia), where Germany is helping the housing construction.
