MOSTAR, June 8 (Hina) - A crime chain smuggling heroine and stolen
luxury cars has been smashed by police from the Herzegovina-Neretva
Canton in southern Bosnia-Herzegovina, in cooperation with
Croatian police and Interpol.
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton police in Mostar on Monday said an
organised group of smugglers had transported narcotics from the
Bosnian Serb entity through the southern part of the Croat-Muslim
Federation of BH towards Croatia, while the cars had been smuggled
from Italy.
The cars were sold or exchanged for drugs in the southern part of the
Federation, but in Italy they were reported as stolen for insurance
purposes.
The authorised prosecutor in Mostar has laid charges against three
Croatian citizens who are suspected of engaging in the unauthorised
production and sale of illegal drugs.
The same source said a joint criminal investigation was
continuing.
