MOSTAR, May 27 (Hina) - Mostar's Bosniak (Muslim) mayor Safet
Orucevic and his Croat deputy Ivan Prskalo held talks with local and
international officials on Wednesday about implementing an
agreement on the return of displaced people to the southern Bosnia-
Herzegovina city.
The talks included the heads of Mostar's six municipalities and
representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees (UNHCR) and the Office of the international High
Representative (OHR).
According to a statement from Prskalo's office, it was said the
return had started but was not two-way, because the return of Croats
to the Mostar suburb of Bijelo Polje had not begun as had been
foreseen under the agreement.
Prskalo demanded that in accordance with the signed agreement, 120
Croat homes in Bijelo Polje, located within the Bosniak-majority
North municipality, be emptied so that the houses could be
reconstructed and displaced people returned to them.
