PRISTINA, Mar 12 (Hina) - The Serbian police killed more than 90
Kosovo Albanians, mostly children, women and the elderly, in the
Drenica area over the past two weeks, the Kosovo committee for the
protection of human rights and freedoms said Thursday evening.
The bodies of the killed were, according to the committee,
massacred, some were charred, with eyes gouged out and hands cut
off.
Among the last 56 bodies buried in Donji Prekaz were 12 children
aged 5-16, 15 women, of whom two were pregnant, and seven elderly
men.
The committee expressed concern at the fact that nothing is known
about the fate of 30 people who, as reported by Serbian police
authorities, surrendered or were arrested.
It is feared that an ammunition factory in Srbica is being used as a
camp where Albanians are tortured.
The committee said that police vehicles and Serbian armed forces
from Kosovska Mitrovica and Glogovac today headed for Srbica.
Today shooting could be heard again in the village of Laus near
Srbica, the committee claimed.
The committee's last data show that at least 20,000 Albanians,
mostly women and children, left the Drenica area following police
attacks.
