PRISTINA, March 9 (Hina) - More than a half of the Albanians killed
in the Kosovo municipality of Srbica in the past few days were
women, children and the elderly, the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo
said on Monday.
According to the information collected by the local Srbica branch
of this organisation, among the 52 Albanians killed in the villages
of Prekaze and Lausa, there were 16 children, 13 women and seven
elderly people. Most of the bodies were so mutilated as to render
identification impossible, the Alliance said.
The victims' families, supported by Albanian political parties and
humanitarian organisations, have demanded that international
experts be appointed to conduct the autopsy.
Kosovo Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova declared 10 and 11 March as
days of mourning for the victims of the violence of the Serbian
regime in the villages of Donje Prekaze and Lausa.
