OBJECTS & CLOTHING OF UNIDENTIFIED VICTIMS DISPLAYED

PETRINJA, March 6 (Hina) - Personal belongings of 69 unidentified victims of the Serbian aggression, exhumed from mass and individual graves in Banovina, were displayed in Petrinja (50 km south-east of Zagreb) on Friday. This is to help in the identification of victims by their families. Two families today recognised parts of footwear, clothing and objects belonging to their loved ones. The display of objects found in graves in Banovina was also attended by Croatian Vice-Premier Ivica Kostovic and the president of the government Commission for Imprisoned and Missing Persons, Ivan Grujic. According to Grujic, 1,650 persons have been exhumed from 88 mass grave throughout Croatia so far. Out of that number, 542 bodies were exhumed in Banovina. Of this number, 420 have been identified and 122 are yet to be identified, he added. Blood testing for 40 members of families of missing Croatian defenders for DNA identification was organised in Petrinja. (hina) jn rm /mb 061740 MET mar 98
