Finally on Wednesday, Tisak unionists managed to hold a meeting with Minister Skegro who informed them that the programme of the rehabilitation of Tisak would be on the top of the agenda of the Government's session tomorrow. ZAGREB, Dec 22 (Hina) - A strikers' committee of four trade unions
of employees with the "Tisak" on Wednesday decided that a general
strike, announced for today, December 22, should be postponed for
the time being, as Croatia's Finance Minister Borislav Skegro
guaranteed to the unions that the Government would consider a
programme of the rehabilitation of this company at its session,
scheduled for Thursday.
Finally on Wednesday, Tisak unionists managed to hold a meeting
with Minister Skegro who informed them that the programme of the
rehabilitation of Tisak would be on the top of the agenda of the
Government's session tomorrow. That session will be chaired by
Skegro.
The unionists said Skegro promised to hand over to them the
Government's decision about the company's rehabilitation not later
than noon tomorrow.
Therefore the strikers' committee decided to wait and see what the
Government's decision would look like and freeze the general
strike, which should have begun at 02.00 pm Wednesday.
In case the Government's decision is not forwarded on time or the
rehabilitation programme is not completely adopted, the general
strike will start at 02.00 pm Thursday, read a statement issued by
