ZAGREB ZAGREB, Nov 22 (Hina) - A three-day seminar for counsellors, teachers and professors on the application of a National Human Rights Education Programme started in Zagreb on Monday. The event was organised by the Institute for
the Promotion of Education and the National Committee for Education on Human Rights, with the financial support of the Dutch Association for Human Rights. Stressing the role of education in promoting human rights, Assistant Education and Sports Minister Mijo Cindric said the Croatian Government had been aware of that and had therefore established the National Committee for Education on Human Rights. The Committee made a draft national programme, which was positively assessed by both domestic and Council of Europe experts. The programme includes all education levels - pre-school, primary and secondary education, higher and adult education and the application of the media

Education and the National Committee for Education on Human Rights,
with the financial support of the Dutch Association for Human
Rights.

Assistant Education and Sports Minister Mijo Cindric said the

established the National Committee for Education on Human Rights.
The Committee made a draft national programme, which was positively

programme includes all education levels - pre-school, primary and
secondary education, higher and adult education and the
application of the media in educating and informing the public
about human rights.
The Committee's secretary Darko Goettlicher said the body planned
to organise, with support from international organisations, a
series of seminars which would be aimed at acquainting all
participants in the education process with the Committee's
programme.
Stressing the universal character of human rights, Dutch
Ambassador Ida van Veldhuizen-Rothenbuecher expressed support for
education on human rights.
