SARAJEVO, Sept 30 (Hina) - The United States Government earmarked an additional US$2.3 million from the state budget to assist spontaneous refugee returns to Bosnia-Herzegovina (BH), the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo said in a statement on
Thursday. According to the Embassy, the donation was okayed after international High Representative for BH Wolfgang Petrisch appealed to donor-countries for additional money to encourage refugee returns. The U.S. Government assistance will be channelled through four U.S. humanitarian organisations which are already assisting refugees in BH. The money will go for housing reconstruction, small companies, and to assist agricultural production. The U.S. Government expressed hope the donation will incite other potential donors to take similar measure before winter.(hina) ha
