MOSTAR, Sept 23 (Hina) - The Government of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton in southern Bosnia-Herzegovina on Thursday concluded it was necessary to step up the return of displaced persons and refugees to the canton. The Government's Croat
members appealed to the international community to assist the Croats' return to the eastern part of Mostar, Jablanica, and Konjic, which have a majority Muslim population. It was pointed out at the session that after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, 3,562 families had returned to pre-war homes in the canton. Of these, only 3.5 percent were Croat families, 20.5 percent were Serb, and 76 percent Muslim.
