"On the occasion of my pastoral visit to Slovenia, where I am going
to send messages of the strengthening and encouragement of
relations and stability of Christian communities I am very glad to
be able to send You, President, and the Croatian people, my regards,
best wishes and the permanent, strong belief in the spiritual and
social development of the beloved country, Croatia," read the
Pope's message to Tudjman.
The Pontiff arrived in the Slovene city of Maribor on Sunday morning
by air to beatify the first Slovenian blessed man, Bishop Anton
Martin Slomsek.
