WASHINGTON, Aug 24 (Hina) - Ambassadors Richard Holbrooke and James Dobbins will soon be conducting a visit to Kosovo. Unofficial sources in Washington reported Monday that the visit could be towards the end of the week. Holbrooke was
recently appointed as US Ambassador to the UN and in the past few years as been one of the main actors during events in the former Yugoslavia. His most recent mission was to mediate with Slobodan Milosevic in Belgrade in March this year during a final attempt to diplomatically resolve the Kosovo crisis. Following Milosevic's rejection, NATO conducted air strikes against Yugoslavia. In February, Dobbins took on the job of implementing the Dayton Accord and Kosovo agreement following Robert Gelbard's departure. Holbrooke and Dobbins will speak to UN High Representative Bernard Kouchner and KFOR commander Michael Jackson as well as meeting with Kosovo Albanian representatives.(Hina) sp
