500 ALBANIANS DISCOVERED TO BE HELD IN SERB PRISONS

PRISTINA, Aug 27 (Hina) - Employees of the Fund for Humanitarian Law said Friday they had been handed information during their visit to Albanian prisoners in Serbia about almost 500 other Albanians imprisoned by Serb authorities who are not on lists published by the Serbian Justice Ministry. A Fund's worker, Ariana Zherka, said the Fund has taken on four Albanian lawyers to visit the prisons and gather information. Within a month, they visited at least 200 prisoners. Lists made up by Serb authorities have 1,530 names of imprisoned persons, while the Fund has drawn up its own list, based on new data, of 2,097 names, Zherka said. She said a hundred people were arriving daily to the Fund's office in Pristina, looking for their missing loved ones.
