Talking to the press upon arrival, Cossiga said he felt very good in
Croatia and that he was very glad to be in Dubrovnik again. He
previously visited the summer resort shortly after the end of the
Serbian aggression on Croatia.
"I followed what was happening to Dubrovnik with great excitement
and I am happy this town is today living a new period," Cossiga
said.
He was accompanied by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman's chief-
of-staff Ivica Kostovic, who told reporters Cossiga was arriving in
Croatia today as a proven friend of our country, and reminded that
Cossiga had been the first president to visit independent Croatia.
"It is a long-standing friendship," Kostovic said.
