HRT PROGRAMMES TO CONTINUE BEING BROADCAST IN BOSNIA -- ORH

MOSTAR, Aug 4 (Hina) - The Office of the High Representative (OHR) to Bosnia-Herzegovina refuted Wednesday that Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) broadcasts would be cut off in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The OHR requested that the transmission of HRT programmes in the country be legalised and harmonised with regulations of the Independent Media Commission which regulates the media. The OHR also said transmission permits should be issued. Erotel, a company transmitting HRT programmes in Bosnia-Herzegovina, was asked by the international community to abandon some transmission facilities and decrease the number of HRT programmes in the country to aid the establishment of a Bosnian Federation television. Some HRT programmes will continue being broadcast in Bosnia-Herzegovina, south Bosnian region OHR official in Mostar, Avis Benes, said Wednesday.
