ZAGREB, July 5 (Hina) - Forum 21, an association of Croatian journalists working in the electronic media, suggested that the implementation of the new law on telecommunications be postponed until an analysis on the consequences of
time restriction for commercials on Croatian Radio Television (HRT) is drawn up. The association gives its support in principle for the time limit for commercials on HRT, but it believes it should be agreed on between all competitors on the television market. Forum 21 believes the regulation from the new law limiting the time for commercials to four minutes per hour is a step towards abolishing the television monopoly. However, the association regrets that the Croatian National Parliament has adopted the advertisement quota without a serious debate on what it means for HRT.
