MOSTAR, July 22 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Party of Bosnia-
Herzegovina (HDZ BH) on Thursday once more regretted "the lack of
political will on the part of Bosniak (Muslim) representatives in
both houses of the parliament of the Federation of BH to adopt a bill
on (federal) Radio-Television."
In a statement issued after a Wednesday session of the federation's
House of Peoples, the largest Bosnian Croat party claims the
representatives, in particular those of the Coalition for Integral
and Democratic BH, missed the opportunity to regulate an integral
media space in BH, especially in electronic media, and failed to
show their commitment to the Madrid Declaration and conditions
required of BH to access the Council of Europe.
The HDZ BH reminds the bill on federal radio-television is a
compromise bill formulated at sessions of the federation's Forum
and government, with support from the office of the international
high representative for BH.
The HDZ BH says in the statement it adopted the bill with the best
intentions that it be passed in parliamentary procedure.
The Bosnian Croat party holds the Coalition responsible for not
accepting the compromises related to the mentioned law, and called
on the high representative's office to condemn such behaviour and
state its view on the fate of the bill.
