ZAGREB, June 28 (Hina) - Opposition MPs at the Croatian National Sabor's House of Representatives on Monday supported the protests of Croatian farmers, which started on Saturday in the organisation of the Croatian Farmers' Association
(HSS). The MPs today discussed changes to the Law on Farmland. They welcomed one of the changes according to which surplus money from the sale or lease of state-owned farmland would be left to the local administration and self-government, but added that a new law on farmland should be adopted. The Lower House also discussed several other bills, including the final bill on customs tariffs. The new customs bill, which has been harmonised with the standards of the World Trade Organisation, simplifies the customs procedure. In a short debate, the MPs said the import of equipment and machines for humanitarian organisations should be exempt from customs duties.(hina) jn rml
