ROME, July 22 (Hina/AR) - A 30-year-old welder from Rijeka was killed Wednesday night in an explosion which occurred on a ship anchored in the port of Trieste, an Italian daily reported on Thursday. Welder Stojan Bobic was killed in
the fire which broke out on the ship, turning it into a huge torch, 'Corriere della Sera' reported. The fire, which was put out only after midnight, also injured Franjo Gelic (aged 36), Ivica Barukcic (26), fireman Adriano Lussi (30) and police officer Salvatore Naseddu (35). The 240-metre long tanker 'Agip Liguria', with the carrying capacity of 114,000 tonnes, is owned by the company Snam of the ENI group, and had been anchored in 'San Marco' Pier for a regular annual overhaul. The overhaul was entrusted to Trieste's 'Cartubi' company which engaged a Croatian company from Buzet to carry out the overhaul. An investigation is under way but it is believed that the explosi
