The Croatian stamp was chosen by a jury composed of readers of world
stamp collecting magazine Timbroloisirs.
Receiving the award, Croatian Post representative Stela Prislan-
Fujs said the 'gajeta falkusa' stamp was the creation of a small
postal company, whose work and quality the world's stamp collecting
public learned to appreciate in a short period of time.
Belgium won first prize and France second in the category of the
most beautiful European stamp of 1998/1999.
The Croatian public voted the 'gajeta falkusa' stamp as the most
beautiful issued in Croatia in 1998.
