ZAGREB, June 27 (Hina) - The Croatian Peasants' Alliance (HSS) continued protests by blocking streets in four Croatian counties, protested additionally Sunday against an incident which happened in Gudinci, in Slavonski Brod-Posavina
County. According to the HSS main secretary, Zlatko Orsag, a member of the Croatian Army, in civilian clothing, struck a protester with his pistol and fired into the air at a location where the peasants blocked a road. Police and Military Police officials intervened. The protester was lightly injured, Orsag said. After today's unsuccessful talks with Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ivan Djurkic, the peasants' pressure to get HSS's requests realised are getting stronger, and the number of protesters blocking streets and protest locations are increasing, the HSS said in a statement.(hina) lml
