OSIJEK-BARANJA COUNTY TO DATE OSIJEK, June 18 (Hina) - A total of 18,531 displaced persons have returned to Osijek-Baranja County in eastern Croatia to date, which is more than 55 percent of the entire number of the displaced. The
highest number of returnees, 69 percent, has been registered in Beli Manastir, Nada Arbanas, head of the regional office for displaced persons and refugees, told reporters in Osijek on Friday. According to present data, only 84 Croat houses in Osijek-Baranja County are currently occupied, including 47 in Erdut, Arbanas said. Considering that more than 4,000 Croat houses were occupied in the county in April 1998, the present figure may be solved in a relatively short time and reconstruction stepped up, she concluded.(hina) ha jn
