During the talks the Croatian Ambassador Girardi-Jurkic announced that her country would broaden the nomination of the Istrian town of Pula to enter the List so that such new and more extensive proposal will cover the historical downtown of Pula. Mounir Bouchenaki said that this July the UNESCO would hold an international conference of representatives of management of natural beauties. The manager of the Plitvice Lakes will be also invited to attend the conference at Baikal Lake, in order to notify other participants of the successful example of the Croatian lakes that remained preserved during the war as well as of effective removal of war consequences from the area. The UNESCO highly appreciates the decision of Croatian Government to extend the region of the Plitvice Lakes National Park, Bouchenaki added. (hina) ms
