BUDAPEST, June 1 (Hina) - On Tuesday, Hungary assumed the obligation to finance the reconstruction of churches in the eastern Croatian villages of Korodj and Kopacevo where many members of the Hungarian minority used to live before
the war. The agreement on this issues was signed in Budapest on Tuesday by Hungary's official in charge of Hungarians outside the country, Tibor Szabo, and two priests of the Reformation Church, Jozsef Kel and Janos Kanalas. Hungary offered financial assistance for the reconstruction of the war-affected Croatian eastern region this March and accepted to help renovate facilities and monuments which are important for the Hungarian minority in Croatia in order to stimulate their return to eastern Slavonia and Baranja.(hina) ms
