River linking the eastern Croatian town of Erdut with the Yugoslav town of Bogojevo was hit during a NATO air raid overnight. At about 10.20 pm Monday, four strong detonations echoed through Erdut and its surroundings. According to a police officer of Osijek-Baranja County, NATO forces shelled the bridge near Erdut, which connects the Croatian and Yugoslav banks of the Danube river. The bridge is closed for traffic, and an investigation is under way to estimate the damage, the police officer Zeljko Vajda added.
