According to a police officer of Osijek-Baranja County, NATO forces shelled the bridge near Erdut which connects the Croatian and Yugoslav banks of the Danube river. The bridge is closed for traffic, while an investigation is under way to estimate damage, the police officer Zeljko Vajda added. Last Saturday a border bridge between the Croatian town of Ilok and the Yugoslav town of Backa Palanka was also hit during an air raid. That damaged bridge cannot be used for traffic.(hina) ms
