BOMBAY, April 27 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian National
'Sabor' on Saturday ended its visit to India. Croatian MPs, led by
Sabor Vice-Chairman Vladimir Seks, have been on a reciprocal visit
to India since March 27, at an invitation of both houses of the
Indian parliament.
At the end of the stay in this huge Asian country, Seks said the
visit had contributed to the strengthening of good political
relations between Croatia and India and opened up possibilities of
forging bilateral agreements.
"We have created a good atmosphere and a basis for the usage of
concrete possibilities, what is now in the jurisdiction of the
Government and ministries," Seks told reporters ahead of the
departure from Bombay.
Seks believed that the talks would help India to understand
Croatia's policy.
I maintain that we have managed to point to the correctness of the
Croatian state policy during the process of gaining the
independence of Croatia and that we have managed to dissuade
significantly our interlocutors who had the other notion about
reasons for the disintegration of the former Yugoslavia with which
they were and are still partly linked sentimentally, the Croatian
official said.
During the talks, Croatian representatives explained causes of the
collapse of the ex-Yugoslavia and the establishment of the
independent states in that area. They also pointed to the
responsibility of the Serbian regime for the events in the former
Yugoslav federation and explained Croatia's stands on the NATO air
raids against Yugoslavia (Serbia-Montenegro).
The nine-member Croatian delegation held meetings with India's
Vice President who is the speaker of the upper house of the
Parliament, with the speaker of the lower house, many
parliamentarians and officials at the Foreign Ministry.
The Croatians toured three Indian states - Rajahstan, Goa and
Maharashtre - where they talked with local authorities.
The main topic of all those talks were the strengthening of the
Croatian-Indian ties in the political, economic and cultural
areas.
