Tourism Minister Sergej Morsan stressed Croatia's advantages in
the field of tourism. Croatian laws provide for the legal security
of foreign investments in Croatia, which foreign supervisors have
assessed as being sufficient.
Privatisation Fund president Stipe Hrkac spoke about the
properties of the privatisation process in Croatia and announced
that seven public companies would be privatised. Croatian
Telecommunications is the first of them to undergo privatisation.
The head of the Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Investments,
Vanja Kalogjera, spoke about legal preconditions for foreign
investments. Kalogjera stressed the political, legal and economic
stability in Croatia, which, he said, confirms Croatia's
relatively good rating with foreign investment risk experts.
Supporting his statements, Kalogjera said the inflation rate in
Croatia was 3 per cent, the Government was conducting a
conservative fiscal policy, 55 per cent of all workers were
employed in service industries and 25 per cent in production, which
is similar to the proportions in developed countries.
Representatives of the Croatian Privatisation Fund, Pension
Insurance Bureau, Splitska Banka, Privredna Banka and
privatisation investment funds then presented tourist offer on the
Adriatic coast.
