ZAGREB, March 27 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian National
Parliament, led by a vice-president of the Sabor, Vladimir Seks,
flew to India on Saturday morning for the reciprocal visit, at an
invitation of the both houses of the Indian Parliament.
During the stay in India, Croatia's MPs will hold talks with the
chairman of the lower house of the Indian parliament, G.M.C
Balayogi, Vice-President of India and the chairman of the upper
house of the parliament, Krishan Kant, and the committee for
foreign affairs.
The Sabor delegation will be received by Indian Premier A.B.
Vajpayee.
Croatian representatives are to tour New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Goa
and Mumbai.
The bilateral relations between the two countries have been
developed continuously. Croatia and India are interested in the
promotion of the economic cooperation, and they have already signed
two agreements in this field - on trade and economic cooperation and
on the maritime traffic.
Last year, Croatia's imports from India amounted to 19.3 million US
dollars while the exports to that great Asian country totalled 1.5
million.
The two countries have also furthered cultural ties. At the
beginning of this month, Croatian Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic
visited India and signed a treaty on the cooperation in education,
science, technology, culture and sport.
The two states established diplomatic relations on 9 July 1992,
shortly after India recognised Croatia.
