CRO CULTURE MINISTER VISITS NEW DELHI MUSEUM & UNIVERSITY

ZAGREB/NEW DELHI, Mar 5 (Hina) - Croatian Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic on Thursday visited the National Museum in New Delhi, as part of his visit to India. According to a statement from the Croatian Ministry of Culture, Biskupic and the New Delhi National Museum manager discussed possibilities of staging an exhibition of Indian miniatures or archaeological artefacts from the museum's rich holdings in Zagreb. The museum's manager expressed the interest in a return Croatian exhibition in New Delhi. Croatia's Culture Minister also visited the University of New Delhi, where he presented some 100 books for the Biblioteca Croatica library. Biskupic on this occasion spoke about the long tradition of Indian studies in Croatia, and pointed out it was important to enable further research into the historical ties between Croatian and Indian cultures and peoples. Both sides expressed a wish to further strengthen scientific institutions, to which an agreement on cooperation in culture, science, education, technology, and sports, to be signed on Friday, should contribute. Biskupic also opened the Croatian Film Week at the Indian International Centre. In attendance were numerous members of the diplomatic corps and the Indian government. (hina) ha
