evening from a three-day visit in Israel.
During the stay in Tel Aviv, the Croatians signed an agreement on
the military and technical cooperation with the Israeli Defence
Ministry.
The visit to Israel is an important and successful diplomatic step
after the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Israel
and Croatia in 1997, Miljavac said upon his arrival at the Zagreb
airport last night.
The Croatian Defence Minister added that the visit was successful
because of the concluded treaty as well as because of a series of

cooperate.
Miljavac said the talks which had revolved around the provision of
necessary means for the Croatian Army were very important and they
showed possibilities of the transfer of the military technology and
other businesses in the military technology between the two
countries.
After this agreement we are to commence with the cooperation in
concrete jobs, particularly in the modernisation of the Croatian
aircraft MIG 21, which will be upgraded in Israel, Miljavac said
adding that after that the equipment would be transferred into
Croatian maintenance plants.
The two countries signed also an agreement on the joint production
of the assault rifles with Croatian manufactures.
Miljavac said the talks in Israel did not merely refer to the
purchase but they also opened possibilities of a broader
cooperation.
Besides Miljavac, the Deputy Defence Minister, Kresimir Cosic, the
Croatian Army's headquarters chief-of-staff, Rear Admiral Davor
Domazet, and an Assistant to the Defence Minister, Vladimir Zagorec
