ZAGREB, Jan 28 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Thursday informed representatives of the Istria county about the
situation in relations between Croatia and Slovenia.
He described them as in line with good neighbourly relations, with
open issues inherited from the former Yugoslavia.
Granic spoke about determining the land and sea border lines
between the two countries, stressing that negotiations were being
held in a constructive and tolerant atmosphere, with respect of
arguments, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Such an approach enabled the solution of 99.1 per cent of the land
border line, and a temporary solution was suggested for the Piran
Bay, based on the agreement on border traffic, Granic recalled.
Stating that the international sea rights court would probably be
asked for counsel regarding a permanent solution, Granic said
negotiation on the issue would continue in mid-February.
He informed county representatives that progress had been achieved
in other open issues, such as the nuclear power plant Krsko, and the
almost completed agreement on property rights relations.
