on Thursday received a Ukrainian delegation led by Volodymyr
Shchelkunov, the head of the Ukrainian national committee for
international economic chamber of commerce (UNOMPK), the Croatian
Government's public relations office reported this evening.
The purpose of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation which included
representatives of Ukrainian employers, unionists and business
people, is to examine possibilities for the furtherance of the
bilateral cooperation.
The Ukrainian guests expressed interest in the cooperation in
metallurgy, power, timber and wood, pharmaceutical and
shipbuilding industries.
Fizulic told the guests that his country would like to export
equipment, medicines, means of transports and different machines
in Ukraine and import ship plates and certain kinds of foodstuffs
and agricultural produce from that country so that Zagreb and Kiev
could achieve a balanced exchange of commodities.
Fizulic and the Ukrainian delegation agreed that there were good
prospects of intensifying the cooperation and this would be
facilitated by an agreement on free trade on which the two countries
were conducting negotiations.
