RACAN: CROATIA-TURKEY TALKS ON FREE TRADE TO BEGIN SOON

ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - Croatia and Turkey will start negotiations on a free trade agreement in the second half of this month, Croatian Prime Minister Ivica Racan said on Tuesday, upon his return from Turkey, where he had been on a two-day official visit. "I announce talks on free trade between Croatia and Turkey, which will start very soon, together with the Zagreb summit on November 24 and I expect the agreement to be signed very soon," Racan told reporters at Zagreb airport. Racan described his visit to Turkey as very successful, stressing the importance of lifting economic relations between the two countries to the level of their political relations, which he described as very good. "The readiness of both sides to double economic cooperation both bilaterally and toward third countries very soon is encouraging," Racan said.
