Nadan Vidosevic told a news conference Thursday.
Agreements were signed ion cooperation in the metal industry.
Daruvar's company Dalir signed two contracts, including an
agreement worth DM500,000.
Croatian and Yugoslav companies should institutionalise
conditions for cooperation with the aim of stimulating economic
cooperation, Yugoslav Chamber of Commerce president Drago Sofranac
said.
This includes, he said, the ratification of signed agreements on
trade, protection of investments and the avoidance of double
taxation. It is also necessary to sign other agreements regulating
economic cooperation.
In order to secure economic cooperation conditions in the future,
it is necessary to initiate the liberalisation of trade, the
establishment of the money transfer system, and enabling an
undisturbed carrying out of all forms of traffic and transport,
Vidosevic said.
Furthermore, it is necessary to view the possibilities of
liberalisation of the visa regime with the aim of facilitating
business contacts and transport.
Vidosevic asserted the gathering of more than 800 business people
obligated the two countries' governments to solve institutional
circumstances obstructing current cooperation.
Participants of the meeting agreed that the process of opening
commerce chamber offices in both countries should begin, and the
upcoming meeting of delegations of chambers of commerce be
organised in the first quarter of 2001 in Zagreb.
