ZAGREB, Aug 17 (Hina) - Zagreb police on Wednesday arrested three Romanian citizens who were stopping traffic on the section of the Zagreb-Lipovica highway between Ivanja Reka and Novska, south-east of the capital, in attempts to sell
gold jewellery. The three Romanians were brought before a magistrate on charges of illegal sojourn in Croatia. No jewellery of any kind was found on Ion Dimitru, 20, Eduard Aleksandru, 25, and Narcisa Miclescu, 17, upon their arrest. Police have called on citizens who reported the incident by telephone to make a statement with the police. Zagreb police said on Thursday several citizens reported the case because the Romanians were forcefully stopping traffic under the pretext of needing help, and would then aggressively try to sell jewellery, seriously endangering security in traffic.
