SPLIT, Aug 16 (Hina) - A fire which burned more than 200 hectares of undergrowth and forest since breaking out yesterday around Klis, a hilly area near the southern Croatian port of Split, was put under control early Wednesday
morning. Fire-fighters have remained on the ground to prevent the fire from spreading. Four canadair aircraft and helicopters took part in extinguishing the flames yesterday, alongside professional and voluntary fire-fighting units. A bush-fire which broke out in the western parts of the nearby mountain of Kozjak after one p.m. yesterday have not been put under control yet. Thus far, 250 hectares of land have been caught by the flames.
