ZAGREB, Aug 8 (Hina) - A total of 530,998 tourists are vacationing on Croatia's Adriatic coast, which is a 29 percent increase in relation to the same period last year and a 13 percent increase compared to 1998. According to reports
from county tourism boards, of the total number of tourists vacationing in southern Croatian counties, 490,912 are foreign nationals, which is 40.4 percent more than last year. The number of domestic tourists has dropped by 15 percent in relation to last year to 70,086. Most tourists are spending their holidays in Istria County (187,474) and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (126,953). The two counties are followed by Split County (77,002), Zadar County (58,414), Sibenik-Knin County (37,240), Dubrovnik-Neretva County (32,654) and Lika-Senj County (11,261). Domestic tourists are vacationing mostly in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County (17,092) and Zadar County (16,400).(hina) rml
