Tourism Minister Pave Zupan-Ruskovic said this year's July 23
recorded 32 percent more tourists than last year's, with 44 percent
more foreign, and 14 percent less domestic tourists.
The minister announced a new way of promoting Croatian tourism in
2001. Foreign public relations agencies, for instance, will cover
an individual country and promote Croatia's tourism. Talks on
cooperation for next year are currently underway with agencies in
Germany, Great Britain, France, and the Benelux countries, while
talks with Scandinavian countries are still being considered.
Zupan-Ruskovic said Croatia should also focus on bringing as many
foreign journalists and agents here as possible.
