OPATIJA, July 25 (Hina) - A total of 108,239 tourists were vacationing in the northern Adriatic region of Kvarner last weekend, which is a 32.3 percent increase in relation to the same period last year and 12 percent more than in the
best post-war year of 1998, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Tourism Board reported. Of the total number of visitors, 91,892 or 85 percent were foreign nationals, mostly Germans, Slovenes, Italians and Austrians. Most tourists are spending their holidays on the islands of Krk, Cres, Losinj, in the Crikvenica and Novi Vinodolski areas, on the island of Rab, in Rijeka etc. (hina) rml
