CROATIA'S AID TO BH CROATS DISAPPEARS OR ENDS UP IN WRONG HANDS

ZAGREB, June 15 (Hina) - The money Croatia is sending Bosnian Croats is still disappearing partially, arriving late or ending up in the wrong hands because financial transfers are still being conducted through the channels of the old system, the president of Bosnia's New Croat Initiative (NHI), Kresimir Zubak, said on Thursday after meeting Croatian President Stipe Mesic. A delegation of NHI members informed Mesic about a programme of assistance to Bosnian Croats which is aimed at securing complete transparency and providing assistance for those who need it most, Zubak said. The NHI suggests the establishment of a special state agency for providing assistance for Bosnian Croats so that full control and transparency could be introduced into financial transfers. The new Croat authority has a completely different policy toward Bosnia-Herzegovina from the old one, and that policy is based on the fact that Bosnia-Herzegovina is an independent and neighbouring state, which the NHI supports. However, Zagreb still does not have a defined concept of help to Bosnian Croats within successful international relations, said Zubak, who is to discuss the same issue with Prime Minister Ivica Racan.
